Week 5

Monday

Team Bing Bong has shown Neil the prototype storyboard and he really seems to like it. He helped expand the scenes to explore the action. He gave us good advice on how to work on the visual development and how our scenes should be presented and researched.

Shannon helped me out with the character designs and I agreed to do more on the style when I come home. God, I'm bored. Mimi is still being a time waster and giving the team grief with her frequent absences and dominance.

I went to see Jane today. She helped me access the journal article websites on my essay. I Shall be back to meet her again at 3:20pm in three weeks time (Nov 9th)

Tuesday

I'm off to a good start on the project. I'm totally exhausted and had been working late again last night. I visited my support worker today and organized my next tasks. I found more broken down research on watercolours related to Quentin Blake. I've done loads of silhouette drawings of crows and finished researching them from documentaries and a book based on Edger Allen Poe called The Raven.

Wednesday

I've done and conducted and researched on ravens, crows, the differences between depression and grief. I've included the poem of the Raven belonging to Edger Allen Poe. I've also included insightful research on the visual development.

Quentin Blake - watercolor

Ink for the crow

Including psychedelic grey that connects to sadness.

Life Drawing can be used to sketch and animate the depressed girl. The National Gallery paintings that possess solid forms and bleak moods.

Thursday

I feel relaxed and awake for today's project. My research on visual development has been accurate enough to work on our scenes. Team Bing Bong has organized our storyboard panels with help from Les. Watercolour and ink.

I brought in books on storyboards and styles. I showed my character designs on the depressed girl and the crow. Good improvements. Sultan gave us a lecture on keeping true to the schedule deadline. We have to work until Dec 18th. Oh God. We still have to work even on the holidays.

Saturday

I have posted my research on Facebook.

Shannon's research is so accurate and well thought of, including the history and mythology of Celtic, Native American, Norse, Christian Belief and the film 'The Crow' and the behavioral of crows and ravens. Today, I've done dozens of crow sketches for animating through my research books. I plan on painting and animating tomorrow. I never felt so excited!

Sunday

I've spend the day doing 11 of the crow test animations on Flash. They looked really good. It's a start on the animatic. I've done more research on painting and animating. I've studied the works of Aaron Blaise, Tohaku Hasegawa and Karl Gnass.
